Genesis was officially launched as my own “new beginning” in January 2024 after a car literally crashed through the front of my previous business venture (no joke, follow up blog coming soon…)
I’m a Scouse sounding, Yorkshire bred, Graphic Design graduate from the University of Salford.
If I had to choose 3 words to describe myself, they would be;
So really, I'm a bit of a basic b*tch when it comes down to it 😂
When I’m not working, training, travelling, eating, drinking or walking the dog (jeez) I also have a partner to satisfy and 2 step-kids to entertain, whilst trying to be an important and serious role-model in their lives (no wonder my Garmin watch is always telling me my body battery is low) so yes, life is full-on and chaotic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
2016 - I’ve been working in the design industry for 9 years now, ever since graduating from university in 2016 (with a First Class Honours degree no less).
2016-19 - To keep it short and sweet - I started by creating and selling prints online, which quickly grew across platforms like Etsy, Amazon, eBay, Folksy, Redbubble, Shopify and a few others. Alongside running my print business, I was also picking up freelance design work here and there, though I wasn’t actively chasing leads at the time.
2020 - The print selling business absolutely boomed during Covid, but once things started to settle down, so did the demand, and, if I’m honest, so did my passion for selling prints.
That's when I decided it was time for a change.
2022/23 - Fast forward 6 months and I had opened up my own shop - using the shop floor to retail my prints and stationery, while also offering Branding and Design services to other businesses.
They say things happen for a reason, so after a year of anxiety, stress and considering a job in Tesco (not even joking, I get PTSD even now when asked about it) I sucked it up, put on my big girl pants and reinvested the insurance payout into Genesis, with the vision of being one of Manchester's hottest design agencies…
2025 - … Over a year later, we’re no where f**king near, so I’ll just stick with taking over Bolton for now (watch out Tim Marner).
My ultimate goal is to transform businesses from ambitious startups into successful scale-ups through strategic design, innovative ideas and a commitment to growth. With the aim of making each and every project exciting, empowering and (dare I say) fun too!
Your brand is so much more than just a logo - it’s a story waiting to be told!
